Year 7 Catch Up Funding
St. Katherine’s School receives additional funding for each Year 7 student who did not achieve the expected standard in reading and/or maths at Key Stage 2. The allocation for 2018/2019 was £17,416 and provides:
targeted support in English through a comprehensive approach to improve the reading ability of all students
small intervention group provision for maths.
For the Academic Year 2019/2020 we are predicting funding of £18,500. We will again use this money to deliver a similar provision as above, which has proven successful in raising standards.
We will also be looking at the transition work between us and the primary schools and ensuring that any students who have below expected Literacy and Numeracy skills are identified and supported to close the gaps in knowledge and application. Students will also work with our Literacy Intervention Coordinator to develop their skills in organisation, spelling, handwriting and punctuation.
