Carnegie Medal book award student panel

Will our panel agree with the winner announced on 19 June?

Each year a group of students and staff shadow the Carnegie Book Award – one of the biggest book awards in the UK. This year marks the 80th anniversary of celebrating some of the best writing for children and young people. Our brilliant group of students undertakes the task of reading all eight shortlisted titles and deciding which they feel should be the winner. The students often find they are trying books they would not otherwise have read, which is often the reason they give for wanting to take part year after year. To acknowledge the intensity of the task we always celebrate on announcement day with plenty of cake!
