U15 Girls Outdoor Cricket

Girls easily progress through to the next round

On Tuesday 23rd May, the U15 girl’s cricket team travelled to Keynsham Cricket Club to face local schools from the Bath and North East Somerset area.  Having had a really successful indoor season hope were high that that the girls would qualify through to the next round.

Having to come in the top two of the teams seemed like a seemingly easy target, however the competition didn’t work out the way it should have, with teams dropping out and grounds being double booked.  In fact what all this meant was that St Kath’s were put straight through to the next round, and squeezing onto the edge of the ground played a friendly match against fellow qualifiers Hayesfield.

This was a great opportunity to practice on the grass wicket and the bowling and fielding of St Kath’s looked sharp.  Hayesfield tested the boundary with some great shots too.  When batting, Ruby Webber and Megan Powell put on a great flurry of runs, with a number of 4’s and 6’s between them.

The girls now await the draw for the next round, to see who their opponents may be.
