We believe in creating a safe environment where students feel able to share any concerns or worries. Students are actively encouraged to report any incidents of bullying. They are taught that they must tell someone if they are worried about themselves or another member of our school community. They can do this by speaking to a member of staff in person. All staff have had training about what to do if a student shares a concern with them. 

Students can also complete the anonymous tell someone form which allows them to share their concerns at any time. This form is found on our homepage and can also be accessed here.

Parents who would like to report any incidents of bullying should do so via their child’s tutor. 

Preventative measures include giving guidance to help prevent bullying through assemblies, tutor time and PSHE lessons, supporting national activities such as Anti-Bullying Week and undertaking our annual belonging survey where all students can give their views on how safe they feel in school. 

The school will deal with each incident on a case by case basis following an investigation of the incident. Interventions will vary from restorative meetings through to formal suspension.

The school will prioritise support to students affected by bullying so that they feel safe in school. We will also work with children who act as bullies so that they can change the way that they behave towards other students. This may involve restorative justice and work with external agencies. In addition, our Pastoral Team can offer support for parents whose children are affected by bullying.

Any complaint about how incidents of bullying have been dealt with should in the first instance contact the Assistant Headteacher. If the issue is unresolved contact should then be made with the Headteacher.
