SK Sporting Students

April 2017 – Millie Mcloughlin (Karate) and Kieran Phillips (Football)

Millie represents England at World Championships and brings home 4 medals!

Not only did Millie have to contend with starting secondary school this year but at the same time she was also competing for her country at the Karate World Championships!

It was a huge achievement just to go to event and it would have been a phenomenal achievement for Millie to have come back with 1 medal. Why settle for 1 when you can win 4!? Incredibly Millie won one gold, two silver and a bronze medal to top off a fantastic Championships. Millie is already training hard for the 2017 competition which is due to be held in October.

You only have to look at the photographs to see that Millie is a hugely talented young athlete and we wish her every success going forwards!

Kieran fires home hat-trick as BRFC U15s win SW Academy Floodlit Cup

Many of you will already know that earlier this year Kieran and his team won the FA Advanced Youth Award Tournament at St George’s Park with Kieran grabbing the winner in the final.

At the very end of term 4 Kieran and his team mates had earned themselves a place in the final of the SW Academy Floodlit Cup and faced opposition from AFC Bournemouth.

I am absolutely delighted to say that BRFC won 7-3 with Kieran scoring a brilliant hat-trick. You can watch all of the goals here: https://twitter.com/roversacademy/status/850961292185751557.

Kieran sets the highest example to other students and we are delighted that he continues to enjoy so much success. Many congratulations to Kieran & his team mates for another excellent victory.
