A Level Results

St Katherine's students celebrated receiving some fantastic results for both A Levels and vocational qualifications in August 2025. Our year 13 students are now moving onto a range of high quality destinations. 75% of students applied for university, 100% of whom are now offer holders from their first or insurance choice. 23% of students who applied for HE will be attending prestigious Russell Group universities including Imperial College London, the University of Manchester and the University of Exeter. Of students progressing to HE, 46% are the first generation of their family to attend university.

A number of students deserve particular recognition for achieving the highest grades:

  • Noah Sakalas - A*A*A*A* - Imperial College London, Physics

  • Sophia Harper - A*AA - Art Foundation at City of Bristol, followed by TV and Film Set Design at the University of South Wales

  • George Garland - A*ABB - University of Manchester, Mathematics,

  • Michael Sirrell - ABB - University of Bath, Mathematics

  • Amani Islam AB(B) - University of Bristol, Medicine

  • Charlie Topp - A*AD - University of Exeter, History

  • Tom Stancliffe - Distinction* AB - Marketing - University of Southampton

  • Bailey Hasell - ABC - University of Exeter, Mechanical Engineering

Justin Humphreys, Headteacher, said:

"Another great set of results for our exceptional students. Well deserved results for students who have achieved great personal academic outcomes along with securing their chosen pathway to Russell Group universities, apprenticeships or great employment opportunities.

A sincere thank you to the teaching staff and colleagues at St Katherine’s for their dedication and compassion in tirelessly working in the best interests of our students.

We are incredibly proud of every one of our students. These results are the product of years of hard work, the support of our dedicated staff and the encouragement of families. Beyond grades, our students have shown resilience, ambition and community spirit—qualities that will serve them well in their next chapter. We wish each and every one of them much success on the next stage of their journey."

Geraint Davies, St Katherine's Head of Sixth Form, added:

"Results Day is an emotional and stressful time for young people, so we can reflect proudly on some outstanding outcomes from our 2025 cohort, including many students who have made strong progress from GCSE. As our final destinations for the group take shape, we are so excited to see students heading off to world-class universities, as well as travelling the world, and taking up exciting work opportunities. Particular mention must go to the remarkable results of Noah Sakalas, whose incredibly rare achievement of 4A*s will see him progress onto Imperial College London (having turned down an offer from the University of Cambridge). We are also incredibly proud of many of our students who showed exceptional determination and resilience to achieve their grades in difficult circumstances.

Also worth noting is a cohort of five students who have reapplied via St Katherine’s this year and achieved their goals, including three students who will be studying medicine at the University of Bristol from September.

Well done, Year 13. We are so proud of you."
