Year 10 and 11 enjoy lessons with UWE science...

On Wednesday 22nd November Year 10 and 11 triple science students took part in lessons delivered by a team of science students from the University of the West of England.

The lessons focused on plant disease, probability and evolution. Students used interactive games to model plant infection and resistance, before considering the evolutionary arms race between plants and their pathogens. Students were fascinated to hear that the banana species we all enjoy eating is at threat from extinction due to plant disease, as well as hearing about famous cases from the past such as Dutch Elm disease.
